A challenging spin, with a few hills and a bit more effort & distance than usual, but we have no time limit and we shall only ever go as fast as our slowest rider, which could very well be me! I have over-estimated the time by about an hour, it won't take us that long or we could use that for second orders, more coffee, cake, chat'n'craic! So why not give it a shot?
We shall meet Sunday morning at 09:15 inside the gate to Forrest Little Golf Club - please don't block the entrance. Travelling parallel to the main road, we continue up Cooks Lane and briefly to the roundabout before coming back on ourselves and heading down Kilreesk Lane. We take a right at the T-Junction and follow small quiet roads, via Rivermeade, Mount Ambrose and on to Rolestown, Oldtown and Garristown. There are a few hills to climb and get the heart rate up!
After an all too short descent, we turn left onto the N2. We'll single out on this busy stretch and stick to the hard shoulder (watch for leaves and debris) for the few kilometres to our coffee stop, at Coolfore. We dip the wheels into Ashbourne, before retreating once again to the quiet back roads and home via Kilsallaghan, St. Margarets and the North runway perimeter route to our start/finish point.

Having endured the more challenging types of cycling; bike packing, road and mountain biking, over recent years – I’m still keen to share & enjoy the more leisurely spins too. All shapes ‘n’ sizes are welcome to join me on my easy going and sociable spins. Hope to see you soon!
No takers, but then again the ride was submitted after the weekly emails had gone out. Two of my regulars would have done it, had they known. Keep checking the website!
I did the planned route and more - checking out other routes for the future - a quick break at the Hill of Tara, before heading to Coolfore for a well earned bagel!
